I'm considering relocating to the Gulf Coast area. I'm a single woman in my mid-40's. I am looking for an area that is mid-life single friendly where I can feel safe and meet other single adults. I don't have children so living in an area primarily geared toward families in not desirable. My interests are biking, hiking (with my dog), evenings in coffee shops and book stores, live theatre, etc.

Can anyone suggest communities I may be interested in?

Perhaps Clear Lake - safe community - lots of activities. Close enough to the center of Houston to enjoy all the amenities.

The Heights if you want close in or The Woodlands if you want farther away. I am Artistic Director of UpStage Theatre and we perform at Lambert Hall in The Heights. It is an historical district with wonderful Victorian architecture. The area has boomed lately and is filled with 30's and 40's singles and couples. Lots of small cafes, always biking and dog walking on the esplanade down Heights and very near Memorial Park.
