Hello - My husband and I currently live in mid-western Ohio and are considering a move to Texas. There is a Houston company - Goodman Manufacturing - that he is looking at as a possible employer.

We'd be looking for a smaller town community type place to live - - affordable (maybe up to 85k) housing.

Any tips / suggestions / etc. are welcome. Also, if anyone knows anything about Goodman Manufacturing - as far as their reputation in the area, etc.

Thanks!

Default Commute

The traffic is really bad in Houston. Is he in HVAC? Has he looked into Johnson Controls? You can go onto the Houston Chronicle, and look under jobs. They have a ton of listings. Also, for housing, look on HAR.com.
As far as a small town, Houston is such a sprawling metropoliton area, just living in Sugarland is a long commute into Houston.

I moved from Cleveland area and I can tell you Houston seems to be bigger then all of Cuyahoga County. It maybe in fact, I just never looked it up.

Goodman's location is in the ghetto, so I don't recommend living near your husband's future job.
