I agree that Tokyo One is very good. Also try Dimassi's Mediteranean Buffet. They have a great and unique selection.

I admit, some folks like to pile it on...I just like variety.
I didn't think of that, it makes perfect sense. Like the Bellagio buffet in Vegas, I eat very little but what I do have is the world of choice.

Ooh, in addition to Todai:
for Indian cuisine there is Mayuri (maybe lunch only) and Dimassi's for Mediterranean.

and of course, B4-U-EAT's listing:

I haven't been to Todai since they were renovating the location to cater more meat. At the time, I would rate Tokyo One better than Todai.

There are two Tokyo One locations, one near Westheimer and Beltway and Willowbrook. I believe the Westheimer one is better, and most likely because there are more customers to cycle through the food.

Is that the one on I-10 near Silber?
If so good b/c I couldn't stand that place the one time I went there.
It was very crowded and the food just wasn't good at all.
I'm not a big fan of buffets, but the ones I remember being okay are American Buffet and Hunan Chef for Chinese food.

Usually the Mongolian BBQ places are all you can eat. When I have friends that drop in with teenagers I take them there. The boys can eat meat, and there is usually a girl experimenting with the vegetarian lifestyle. Keeps both sides happy.

Fogo De Chau is what I call the beef orgy.

Todai is to die for (sorry!). Fogo de Chau is good but only has red meat, no sushi like Todai and is a little more expensive. Another great new churrascuria with travelling gauchos is BrazaViva out around Westheimer @ Dairy Ashfort. Personally I think the meat is more tender and flavorful than Fogo and is a bit cheaper.

For cheap every day (<$10, try in Bellaire at Bellaire@Stella Link the chinese buffet. It's fantastic and also has a little bit of sushi and lots of fresh cooked seafood incl. baked and grilled fish (not the usual fried catfish mystery chuncks over grease).

I agree with Dimassi's. That is the best place hands down if you like ethnic foods!

I have a co-worker who is Indian and he recommends that we only go to Indian restaurants with buffets - so that we can try new things and if we don't like - it's okay because there is still enough variety to allow us to fill up on the things we do like.

I like Larry's BBQ on 290. It's not the best, but it is darn good for all you can eat at only $10.
