So, do you guys think this will have any positive effect on the area? Or is it all just political BS?

Because I tend to think it's the latter.

Supposedly an effort by the local elected officials to revitalize the area after years of decline. Here's their website:

renaissance1960.org - Home

So far, they don't seem to be doing much of anything. Their probably too scared shirtless of offending the slumlords.

I agree with jfre81 on this one. Did you even read that page?

If you got involved with the group then you could answer your own question or just maybe, make a difference. But I will give you credit for giving the group some exposure.

Callo, if you hate this area so much, why are you here? Having been in the 1960 area on and off since 1974, Westador, Ponderosa and now Champions, I am beginning to get tired of your constant harping. Read the quote at the bottom of the linked page. I dare you. These are well intentioned people you are slamming. What could be wrong with trying to stop urban blight and decay in one's community?

The gist of your post suggest some sinister motive. My response is, so what. If they are getting anything other than an atta boy from the community, I don't care. Whatever they do is gonna help all of us. Get to know you very own water board, you might learn something.
