Does Houston have any public universities on the north (of the 610) side of town?

All the UH campuses seem to be downtown or further south.

Where do the people that live on the north side go?

You could go to Huntsville, I guess. Huntsville is still far even if you live up there. About 45 miles from The Woodlands to Huntsville. Just gotta get used to the traffic!

Like the poster above stated, the only University would be Sam Houston State in Huntsville. There is a good community college system on the north side though. It used to be called North Harris County College but has changed its name to Lone Star College.

How far you need to go?

Even Prairie View A&M is about 40 miles out west on HWY 290...

Plenty of community college up on the north side where at least UH has some courses offered. Possibly at both North Harris-Montgomery and Lone Star. Haven't kept up lately, though. Or is Lone Star College everything that is not HCC or San Joke in Houston now?
