In Ohio, I could mow the lawn during the summer months without seeing a single insect in 2 hours.

I grew up in Toledo and we didn't have any critters either. My boys are going to be bummed when I tell them all that I saw. They are totally fascinated. We are now the proud parents of two green anoles that they caught in our yard and are now in a cage in the house. My middle son keeps wanting to bring in all the snakes he finds but I put my foot down. Snakes are fine outside keeping us pest free but absolutely not in the house.
