I'm hoping someone might recommend a therapist either they heard is great or knows for sure is good and cares about clients.

I live near the medical center area near downtown Houston. It doesn't matter if the therapist is male or female...specialty would be depression, pain management and GLBA issues.

A therapist is like a hairdresser, find one you personally like. Almost anyone can be a therapist. It would be better if you went to a psychiatrist... they are held to higher standards. IMHO
