I'm going to RenFest this weekend with some friends of mine, and we're camping out. I've been to RenFest before, but I've never camped out so this will be a new experience for me.

From what I understand, there are no showers at the campgrounds. Does anyone know of any public showers, like at a truck stop or something, nearby? I am one of those people who HAVE to have a shower every day, and the idea of going two days without a shower is grossing me out. I thought about getting a hotel room, but my friends will be disappointed if we do that. Any suggestions?

There isnt really anything nearby to the RenFest. Planterville is a very small town.

I know this isn't what you're looking for but maybe pack baby whipes and some items to take a sponge bath. There's also a product called dry shampoo if you're concerned about your hair getting oily.

Never been to a ren. fair myself, but why not embrace the experience and do what people did in those times. Take a few washclothes with you, heat up a big pot of water on the campfire and then take it into your tent to clean yourself. I'm sure you would find yourself more than adequately cleaned... especially for a renaissance fair.

Yeah my main concern is my hair. I have a very oily hair, so I have to wash it every day. I found a solution at Wal-Mart though. It's a portable solar shower, you fill it with water and the sun heats it up. I think my friend has an enclosure, otherwise I'm showering in my swim suit!
