When one of these idiots gets shot by a home owner, it will send a message to the rest of the community thugs and they will think twice about robbing people. I know we are keeping ours handy.

the word spreads quickly on the street, whenever an easy target is spotted, or if resistance is to be expected. We try to set a good example for what happens if you get caught doing wrong here. We seldom even bother the Police with such matters, as they are busy with bigger fish.

Pleas explain what Ole bill had to do with it. We have always had crime in Houston. We were at one time "Murder Capital USA" If you remember back.

Gates are a joke; truth be told they're more of an inconvenience for homeowners who have to go in and out of them everyday than they are a security measure. Fact is most every pickup truck in town with a lawnmower in the back has the code to the gate anyways so what's the point...

Reps to you

Lawnmen( their cousins, friends and brothers) or the knowledge of a firecode will get you into any Million dollar housing community.Oh and the "gaurds," give great inside info to their friends as well.

They only have a mild affect in the city to keep solicitors and petty theft out. Total joke in "enclaves" 45 minutes outside of town.

So true, me and my friend wanted to see what tracy mcgrady's house looked like, one phone call later we got through the gates and saw his house (his house takes up an entire cul-de-sac)

Security is statistical, Sugar Land is safe because crime is low, but there is still crime. No matter how careful you are, there is always a chance of you getting robbed.

I am curious how many Houstonian homeowners are considering packing heat now that these types of robberies have become more prominent.

haha youre right every teenager, pedophile, salesman, jehovas, and other people poor enough to steal used appliances can get a pickup truck and put a mower at the back, make friends with the real mower crowd and get the code. after that they would risk flying thru useless road bumps and be stopped for a moment for the gates to open after fleeing. noone is afraid of getting boxed in because of a faulty or disabled exit gate too

high heels, button-flys, wristwatches, curly hair, eating, walls, parking garages are all just inconveniences LOL
