Hi. My husband and I are moving to the Houston area from Connecticut. We are newly married, no kids. My husband works from home and needs to be close to airport. We would like a recently built home and want to spend 400-650.

Can you hear the planes flying in Kingwood? Is it almost too close to the airport? Also, are the people middle to upper class like the Woodlands?

We looked at the Woodlands but feel like we might be paying too much in maintainance fees and homeowner.

Thanks in Advance for your help!

In Kignwood, plains are not a problem (though there are quite a few pilots here.)

Check out Fall Creek in Humble. It's only ten miles from the airport. This is the same price range we shopped for and found a really beautiful home. Very little airplane noise/traffic. Stay away from Eagle Springs. They are right in the flight path. Kingwood is also great. There is a new neighborhood there calling Barrington. It's supposed to be really nice...but it's brand new, so lots of construction going on.
www dot Fall Creek Houston dot com if you want to check out homes. Also Summerwood is nice and about 15 miles from the airport. ~K~

Your right about Eagle Springs. The planes really stack up over that development.

To answer your question, Kingwood has similar income and demographics as The Woodlands.

Naw not too close to airport.. ONly Greens point aka Gunspoint is too close... Woodlands and Kingwood is sooooo snooty , that i get nose bleeds driving through there , when I Have to drive through there. Is that upper class enough? Yes theyare both communities that do not want the elderly, the sick, the lower middle class who serve them, or anyone else under the label of "Those people".

Between Kingwood and The Woodlands it's not close. Kingwood is part of Houston, The Woodlands is not and never will be. Kingwood was master planned in part but there was way too many other area around it that were poorly planned (like 1960 area around Atascocita). You can't make a mistake moving to The Woodlands.

Kingwood has great planned areas around it including:

Eagle Springs
Summerwood
Fall Creek

1960 is simply a route to get to 59 with businesses on it.

I prefer Kingwood to the Woodlands

Here is a new mixed use, waterfron, pedestrial friendly development coming in:

We have lived in Kingwood for nearly 5 years and live directly under the flight path. The planes are not loud, and have never been a disturbance to us. The only time you may hear anything is if your outside, but inside the house...it's not a problem whatsoever.

And there are many lovely homes being built in the Kings River area on the lake and golf course that will be in your price range!

Do you know why TW was created? To have a MIX of different incomes. Now granted the master plan has changed some, but you can still find PLENTY of homes under 115K there.

I suggest you take a class on grammar skills because your writing is hard to follow.
