@sampaguita: can you tell me how you paid for Copperwood? Also, did they quote how much for the move after looking at your stuff or did it go by the hour? Some companies require a minimum number of hours for the crew to be hired.
Hi...Mehdi came to the house & gave a quote after looking at everything we had to move. They quoted a price for the whole move which was less than 3 Men Movers (which required a minimum although we knew our job was going to surpass the minimum in any case). We either paid by check or cash - I don't remember which.

I'm moving May 1 from my current apartment to another apartment complex right down the road. The last movers we hired were a disaster ... do not EVER use Apartment Movers. They are cheap, and I got what I paid for.

This time around, I decided to spend extra money and have less headaches on moving day. I did some poking around on Citysearch, and Apple Movers had EXTREMELY good reviews. I don't think there was one negative review - and the positive reviews that were there seemed to be legit (I've heard that some companies post fake positive reviews for themselves). Because we're moving on a Saturday, it's going to be $99/hour for a three man crew plus a $70 trip charge. He told me that if I moved on a weekday, I could get a two man crew for $85/hour (trip charge would still apply, I think). We don't have a tremendous amount of stuff to move, so I don't think we'll go over the two hours unless they screw around a lot. I'll let you guys know what I think after the move.

Can anyone recommend a reliable and reasonably priced local moving company? I tried searching the forum, but did not find the info I am looking for.

Thanks!
Good Luck!
