If they were to move back to their countries, they will most likely miss Houston because of its low cost of living.

I hope that Texas, particularly Houston, grows on you.

7 years and no luck. Just be patient! What are you looking for Houston to have in order for you to be happy?

Financially these 7 years have done very well to me. I have lot of family here.

Man, just reduce the humidity and heat in the Summer.

Ok, the heat is what makes Houston sucks. I understand you now!

youre not alone *Texas USER* . To me Houston is like Saudi Arabia. Just do your time and you'll get good money. Hopefully my family finds enough things to distract them while I save up

Do you mean it or are you just saying that?

I did at first but mine was a slow and gradual withdrawal from Houston. I first moved to Austin and then to Dallas. From Dallas I moved to beautiful California and I LOVE IT! I don't miss the weather but I miss a lot of things about Houston. I grew up in Houston and had some of the best days of my life there! I still have family and friends living there and I am comfortable when I visit since I know Houston like the back of my hand! I really think that has a lot to do with the missing... knowing the city so well. It is little things like having the same hairdresser since 6th grade. The same car mechanic for 20 years. Texas BBQ! Knowing the best restaurants, gyms and medical care to go to when needed. The Texas Medical Center. Cafe Caspian. The view of downtown Houston from Allen Parkway, Memorial Drive or heading towards the Pierce elevated from 45 south as the sun is setting! The night view of the downtown Houston skyline. Knowing how to get around town without a map or GPS.

Mostly what I miss are the funny, kind, intelligent, "crazy good", and diverse PEOPLE that I met along my journey in Houston! Things like that are what I miss about Houston.

It is my home and it was a great city to grow up in and spend 43 years of my life in. I am proud to say that I am from Houston whenever asked here in California. I boast about Houston to whom ever is interested in knowing about that great big city!
