Okay, finally went to try The Boot.

I always like to start with a simple pizza - better to judge the crust, sauce and cheese.

Crust - thinnest crust I have seen not in St. Louis. Too thin for my tastes.

Sauce - minimal. Wish I had ordered extra sauce. Not a lot of flavor in what sauce we had.

Cheese - not stretchiness. Appeared covered with cheese, but no pull factor.

Toppings- we went prosciutto, and they covered the pizza with it. My recommendation, cut it into smaller strips. Meat didn't seem to have been cooked as long as the pizza, usually when you bake prosciutto you get a little crispiness, a little juice, but not this one.

Price: Expensive

Place was very nicely decorated. Waitress was very sweet.

Thin crust (like NY style) is my favorite....is that what The Boot has?

Can't wait to try Cork and Crust when we ever get the time....

No, it is thinner than NY or New Haven style. Cracks under pressure thin.

I love all crust thicknesses. Each have their place. But I really love a super cracker thin crust on a pepperoni pizza. This is one of the things that Domino's actually do very well (and I forgive them for the square slices) .

Then you may really like this place. I like a bit of dough in my crust, plus a bit more flavor in my sauce. Give it a try, my word is not gospel.

Now that sounds interesting.

How was the crust?

Sauce?

Cheese?

I've been to big eds before and I don't care for it. Crust was flavorless and sauce was too sweet.

I have been a fan of Big Ed's since the Oakwood location. Loved the big scissors to slice the pizza's.
But at the new location I have been a Calzone only kind of guy. They just make them right. Right as rain.

That's what domino's does well. Including the squares.
