But I have lived in Madison/Huntsville a long time so I have personal experience and history. Ask me your questions about this area if you haven't been here a long while. I will do my best to answer and research I don't know.

I want to help you get to know the area if you don't. For example, Redstone Arsenal, the part that joins the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge still has the old barge landings for Apollo Rocket parts. And there used to be a farm called Lowe Hereford Farm where I lived as a child with my Grandparents and Parents that is now the Intergraph Campus. It was unbelievable how beautiful it was but it got plowed under and clear cut.

I used to work with a guy who claimed he used to go rabbit hunting where Ingergraph is. Always blew my mind to think it used to not be built up.

I had a Cocker Spaniel named Susan and she would go down a rabbit hole and yip... Lady Ann Lake (Edgewater) butted up against the farm and I would ride my horse over and go fishing there on the levy which is still there. There was a huge drainage pipe underneath from the lake to a little pool on the other side and you could see the fish swimming. Caught crappie and brim, took them to Granny and she fried them up with homemade hushpuppies.

Remember the rock quarry at the south end of the old airport? How did they manage to fill that thing up and make it disappear ?

Oooops! I was thinking of the location of the current airport which is just outside Madison. I wasn't around here when those quarry's were open.
