These guys seem to have a monopoly on huntsville dealerships. Do they have the Fiat dealership as well? I'm thinking of getting a sexy Fiat and wondering if I should go outside of the huntsville city to give some other dealership a chance at a sale.

Well I certainly wouldn't deal with them.

I have 2 personal stories relating to close friends of mine, of them flat out screwing people over. But they are both stemming from the Chevy dealership and incidentally both involve Camaros

I would imagine the Fiat folks are fine. Landers just bought them, he didn't restaff them with his cronies. At least as far as I know.

I had no trouble w/ Landers Mclarty...of course I went through Penfed/Zag for no-haggle pricing, so it was a quick in and out and they even brought the vehicle in for me from a dealer South Carolina. No attempted up-sells, no BS...

Dealt with them once... won't again.
I found a much better deal on my car in Cullman than Huntsville offered me. But then...I'm closer to Cullman probably too.
Pitiful story is... I emailed through their websites (several dealers, different makers) 16 emails with questions on a car (I was definitely purchasing). 4 bothered to email me back and only 1 of those actually addressed any of my questions. That is who I ended up purchasing my new vehicle from. Probably will again if she is still with them when I purchase again.

The smaller dealerships outside of Huntsville are more willing to work with people. The dealers in Huntsville sell in large enough volumes that they don't care if they miss a sale.

Why wouldn't anyone do this anyway? It makes sense to compare prices from different dealers. Play them against each other.

Regardless. I don't know of another Fiat dealer in the area, besides going to Bham.

They do seem to have the market cornered here. I'd go out of town for better deals if feasible.

Thanks everyone. Anyone have any places they have used in the past that could be recommended?

If you know a bit of the background of Landers McClarty, then it is easy to understand how they got the market cornered, and even with your tax money.

I would never buy anything from a place that has links with politics.
