In addition to El Cazador, I would suggest:
Rolo's - meat & vegetables, on Airport Rd
Jamo's - Middle Eastern, on Jordan Lane
Peppered Pig - sandwich truck on S. Parkway past Mt Gap Rd
Cajun Cafe - in Lacey's Spring
Dub's - greasy hamburgers, in Athens
Catfish Cabin - on Hwy 72 in Athens

About 5 miles north and west of the border at Railroad Bed Road: The Blanche Deli at Blanche, TN (Why 101 about 2.5 miles west of Taft, TN).

Great people, service and a great breakfast!

I have been to Supper Heroes a few times. We had a good experience the first time, but the second and third the food was really greasy. We haven't been back since.

I forgot about Jamos but I did go there once. We really enjoyed it.

Not in Madison county but, if ever traveling down memorial pkwy down thru Arab, grab a burger and fries at Midas Burger, been there since... I don't know...early 60s maybe, like the old burger joints. Also if ever near Danville or going down hwy 157 or County rd 55... Old Cook Stove - Danville, AL, Alabama, restaurant, home-cooking, cook, vegetables, farm, farms, Mennonite, Amish, fresh, baked, breads, bread, chicken, meat loaf, homemade, house-made, desserts, desert, home churned, ice cream, German chocolate cake Very out of the way in the Mennonite community.
And yes, those chicken fingers at Dari-Delite in Hartselle are very good.

Been to Dari-Delite a few times. We do our taxes in Hartselle so we go once a year.

I think we've eaten a Midas burger too. We live out close to Gurley but the wife's family is from Arab. We used to frequent that area a lot.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! It's cool to find out of the way places.
