Generally you need to be subscribed to a cable package that is eligible to receive the SEC Network. You will have to check with Mediacom to see if you are supposed to be getting it. For example for Comcast you need to at least subscribe to:
Digital Starter: states with SEC teams
Digital Preferred: all other states

ESPN has indicated that the SEC network will not be available as a separate upgrade outside the usual subscription bundling.

If your cable box has a channel guide then you can find it two ways:
1. Search for "SEC"
2. Only list sports channels

If you still can't find it then it is possible that Mediacom does not have it up yet. You will have to call their customer support to find out what the status is. BTW, I had to call Comcast's customer support to find out what channels they had it on.

I believe mediacom is one of the few holdouts, possibly the largest.

You are correct, but they have made a deal. As I stated earlier, it will go live on Mediacom in the "next few days". I do currently have Mediacom, but unfortunately, for Mediacom, I am having DirecTV installed today, not just because of the SECnetwork though.

Here is the official announcement from Mediacom....

Quote:
Mediacom will carry the SEC Network in Family Cable and HD Family Cable in its Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee markets, and as one of the many specialty sports channels in the Sports & Information package available to PRIME TV subscribers in Mediacom’s remaining footprint.
The Southeastern Conference and ESPN have signed a 20-year agreement through 2034 to create and operate a multiplatform network which will launch August 14, 2014. The new network and its accompanying digital platform will air SEC content 24/7 including more than 1,000 events in its first year. The network will televise 45 SEC football games, more than 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, and events from across the SEC's 21 sports annually. Programming will also include in-depth commentary and analysis in studio shows, daily news and information original content such as SEC Storied, spring football games, and more. Hundreds of additional live events from various sports will be offered exclusively on the digital platform.
Currently our AZ/CA systems will not carry the channel. We will have channel numbers soon and it should be on the air in the coming days, well before the first game!
For the University of Missouri, it will only be carried in HD and will be on 30-4.

I checked this morning and Mediacom has started broadcasting SECnetwork. The HD channel is 834. I didn't have time to look for the non-HD channel.
