Yeah...this is Amurica, and we're proud of our ignorance and intolerance.

Are you saying he should've learned English if he was planning to visit his son and that he would've not gotten into trouble if he knew English.

The training for police in some states is sub par, not saying all police are bad, few of my buddies are cops and they want to make a difference but they get corrupted over time by politics in policing and seeing the dregs of society... they get burnt out and start cutting corners. This cop could never be hired back by any police force after that incident.

What I'm talking about are the people that want to come live here, but do not want to acclimate to the country. Why should I have to learn another language to communicate with someone that wants to come live or even visit in my native country? Actually from what I understand he was here to help with his grandson. It's sheer stupidity to think you can accommodate for every language and dialect.

So people should not travel to a destination where they can't speak the language? So failure to communicate is justification for being body slammed to the pavement?

Do you even read post before you reply? If you watched the video Mr. Patel kept trying to walk away from the police when they were trying to communicate with him. Do you honestly believe that Mr. Patel couldn't recognize two men dressed in uniform with guns on their sides as police? I don't believe that the police just body slammed him for absolutely no reason. He had already shown he was willing to walk away from the police. This isn't an 90 year old grandfather walking down the street with a walker.

You should send Eric Parker a friend request on facebook and meet him up for beer to thank for his dedication and service to the nation.

I will say this. All these people on here claiming this man's rights were violated would be the first to call the police if they saw a law abiding citizen walking down the street in their neighborhood with an AR-15 strapped to their back and a pistol holstered on their side. They would want that person investigated and have his weapons confiscated. There is a definite affirmed right in the US Constitution in the 2nd Amendment which ends with "...shall not be infringed.". People don't care about that part of the Constitution only what is convenient for their agenda.

This has nothing to do with a seemingly innocent many being body slammed to the ground after repeated attempts to walk away. Everyone seems to leave that out when they post the video on their website. They only show the body slam. Was it excessive? Yes. This has more to do with making all cops bad guys than it does about portraying what really happened. However what is the normal protocol for someone of which they know nothing about that tries to keep walking away after a suspicious persons call was made about someone walking around looking into houses? The real problem started when he allegedly was walking around looking into windows of other peoples houses. I wouldn't take to kindly to someone doing that in my neighborhood as well. I don't know what they are up to. There is blame that can fall to both sides on this one.
