Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't part of the scope of work to make CL 5 lanes from I-565 to 72?

Seems that with all the new curbs they are putting in, it will actually be narrower in most places and there is NO way they can squeeze another lane in between Palmer and Hardiman, where one is needed the most.

I still haven't figured out what they are doing with the curbs, but yes, it is supposed to be 5 lanes the entire way.

Hopefully it doesn't turn out as you say. Hartselle redid their downtown area and put these new curbs and streetlights in (jutting into the road). It is AWFUL. There already wasn't enough parking and now they've lost about a third of what parking there was. Semis going thru downtown had to be more cautious and when they hung out their Christmas lights from the poles and streetlights, they found out that didn't work out too well at some spots as they jutted into the roadspace too far and the semis couldn't past a few of them. I hope it's not the same sort of planning going on there. Someone didn't think it thru. I don't have to go down county line too often but when I do visit daughter and grands, that's the road that gets me there.

They are supposed to put 10' wide multi-use paths on both side. I believe they are burying all the drainage and using the curbs to support storm drains.
