Hello! We are moving to Huntsville this summer with 3 kids! We are trying to decide between Hampton Cove and Jones Valley/Blossomwood area. A big factor is where all the kids activities will be. Where are the practices/games held for soccer, baseball, etc. What about gymnastics/tumbling/tennis? If everything is over the mountain we would probably decide to buy in Jones Valley/Blossomwood. Any info and insight would be great!

The Hampton Cove area has its own sports program so soccer/baseball/softball, etc. will practice at Cove Park. Most away games will be "over the mountain" though. As far as I know, there's no tumbling/gymnastics program in HC. Tennis lessons would depend on whether the house you bought was in a neighborhood that had tennis courts. If you're a member of Hampton House, it has a very active tennis program with lessons and quite a few playing groups.

the only thing I could comment on is tennis. The blossom wood area has a couple of public tennis courts near Huntsville Junior High School Website Directions. Also, the Huntsville public tennis center is off of airport road, not too far away, www.huntsvilletenniscenter.com/ Huntsville high school has always had well maintained public (free) courts, too. And, if you'd like to join the Valley Hill Country Club a little farther south off of Weatherly road, they offer tennis, golf, dining, etc. Another idea is www.athleticclubalabama.com which used to be called HSV Athletic Club. It has indoor and outdoor tennis. You can learn a lot about local tennis options here: Where to play | Huntsville Area Tennis Association

The two big places I know of for tumbling is Matrix (near Jones Valley area) and Ace (near Monrovia area). Both are great.
