Okay, I'll reproduce the evidence as you seem to have missed it the last go-round:

Good job, Birmingham. But 37% is not "most of Alabama's wealth".

Oh good. Everyone loves a semantics game.

"Most" in this case means "the greatest part." Which it most certainly is.

37% of wealth may come from Birmingham, but that means 63% comes from somewhere else.

Add Mobile, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa and the Talladega 500 and you probably account for much of that 63%.

I take it you're talking about US 72? The lakes make the scenery stand out, but it can get a bit boring if you have to drive that route on a constant basis, like I do.

You've obviously never been to either of these two places. Its not wealth they are amassing unless wealth is measured in Skoal and Natty Light.

Cool. A math lesson. Thanks.

I wonder why this comes up now instead of during the first half of this thread which has the tone that Huntsville is carrying the burden, was an oasis, and the "rest of Alabama" needs to step up.

As a former boss of mine liked to say, "Words are important."

"Great job this year! You did so well, we're giving most of the $100,000 company bonus pool to you! Here's your check for $1000. You got a bigger check than anyone else. Enjoy."

We now get that your point is just that Birmingham contributes "the most" to Alabama's wealth, and not that it contributes most of the state's wealth. Not that surprising, but good to know. Thanks.
