If I remember correctly, groundbreaking for the dual-named Marriott was held some months ago. Has actual construction started yet? I haven't seen any activity there.

We walked by the Marriott lot last night and there is absolutely no construction activity there. But, the Palmer House apartments next door are coming along. They have cabinets, appliances and lighting in the units and this week they began completing painting on the exterior of the buildings.

The bid dates slated between 11-15 through 11-21 with construction start date Feb 1, 2023. We'll see.

The City of Madison is soliciting bids for the City of Madison Interchange -
Phase 2 which consists of performing grade, drain, base, pave, bridges, lighting, & retaining walls associated with the Ramps C & D flyovers connecting the I-565 WB route to the current Town Madison development as required by and according to the details, specifications, and contract documents contained in the Invitation to Bid and as generally described as follows:
Only properly licensed general contractors per Alabama law may submit a bid. This project consists of constructing the Ramps C & D flyover bridges connecting the I-565 WB route to the Town Madison development. Work includes erosion control, grading & drainage, crushed aggregate base, bituminous concrete paving, topsoil & vegetative cover, retaining walls, traffic markings & signage, lighting, and bridges (concrete & steel girders). The timeframe for completion is 550 calendar days from the date of the notice to proceed.

Well, it's about time. Hope it goes through without a hitch. I suspect constructiion of the flyovers will result in considerable further retail development for Town Madison.

It looks like it began this week. They're pushing dirt around.

So there's basically 3 Marriotts in the process of being built right now, including the Autograph, not to mention the Moxy has been announced as well. Guess it's safe to say Marriott loves Huntsville.

And also an item on MidCity's website says something like "Marriott announcing soon". Presumably that's not the Indigo or the one of the others that have already started.

Any idea what's being built in Madison next to the extended stay place on Intergraph? Looks like it's probably a similar hotel, 4 floors, but not a very large footprint.

We went to the new Panera earlier this evening. Nice crowd there, nice personnel working the registers (being trained, but they have to learn), and good food. It will be a nice location.
