The storm last night may have triggered them, or maybe they just wanted to vote, but for whatever reason the Asian lady beetles are out en-masse looking for overwintering spots. Time for my annual mass genocide with an insect barrier spray to keep them from infesting the house for the next six months. IIRC, this is about a week or more later than last year.

I noticed them a couple of hours ago too. They are everywhere all of the sudden.

I hate to use poison on them however last year I had THOUSANDS on the side of my house. I have never seen so many in the past 17 years of living here.

This year there were far fewer (probably due to my use of poison) but still a large number. I sprayed again.

I live in a rural area with no nearby neighbors and try to no use insecticide or any lawn treatments but I draw the line at these pests; nothing worse than sitting in your living room with beetles crawling all over you.

BTW- I am in Tennessee just north of the Alabama line (30 - 40 miles +/-) and mine came last week.

I haven't seen any in the last day or two, but did a couple of weeks ago.

Are we talking orange with black spots or green with black spots? The ones I saw were orange.

Go to the feedmill or TSC and get the horse fly chemical. It works great. Much better than the box store stuff.
