The Huntsville humane society and the local no-kill are about to be inundated with pets, who, through no fault of their own, are facing dire straits. At the same time, people who are struggling to cope with job loss, economic issues, and even personal loss of loved ones do not have the resources to support those pets that have given them solace, and are an unwavering source of affection, and depend upon them to exist.

I am not setting myself as a leader of any movement, nor do I care to even be acknowledged if the end result is positive. I simply grieve for those simple animals who have ultimate trust in our flawed humanity.

Please, if someone IS a leader, if someone does have the know how, will one of the folks here, or one of those who we know, offer some sort of "food stamp" assistance through an established organization. to keep these very productive members of the community out of shelters and in the loving hands of those who need them most?

Free pet food is available at the Huntsville Humane Society.
King’s Community Kitchen Pet Food Bank , offering both dog and cat food.
And they welcome and need donations.

Do they take money donations, or do they want actual cat and dog food? I'm certainly willing to help them out - we love our pets.

They absolutely will take monetary donations. I think it would be more efficient to give money so they can shop around and buy food and supplies in bulk and get more for the $ than an individual would. Plus your $ donation is tax deductible.
