Mustn't disappoint too much.
On Friday, my GF and I went to Burritt on the mountain. It felt like Huntsville for the most part. The mansion was still there, with hay bale insulation and innovative architecture. There were a couple of bored goats, and Sweetpea the pig was happily wallowing in Alabama filth. Alongside the new pavilion there was a single tree that had flaming red leaves out of season. Those screaming leaves didn't even know they were dead yet, and hadn't yet fallen to the ground, helped along by winds from on high, to be mulched into the dirt of generations of backwoods hillbillies.
Over recent years, the mansion has had new development around it, just as some might have predicted. Of course, being Alabama, none of those structures were built to code, and they were almost exclusively wood. It was sad seeing the open field space developed like that with single family homes, and a "new" school that was woefully outdated.
Did I mention that those homes were old single pen and double pen homes that were re-located? Cost of new construction what it is, California style pioneer cabins were just too expensive. Oh well, Huntsville will just have to limp along without the outside benefactors who donate thousands to charity each month and can guide the place out of the horrors of dirty Mapcos.

There isn't anything I don't like about living in Huntsville.
The only thing "I don't like" is that it's far from my family, the desert, beaches and mountains.
Everything else about Huntsville is great.
Y'all probably won't be getting rid of me anytime soon!
