My husband and I are moving to Huntsville for 4 months while he attends a course for the Army. I stay home with our 14 month old son and am looking for play groups or other activities that I can do with my son. I plan on enrolling him in Gymboree, but would like info on other, less expensive options too! I especially want to make some friends for myself so I don't go crazy! Also, we are looking for a good family-oriented Baptist church. Not so huge so that we can't plug in and develop friendships and not so contemporary that the worshippers don't remember the words to "How Great Thou Art" from memory. ) Somewhere in the middle maybe? Any advice would be great so that we can survive the next four months!

Do you know where you will be living while you are here?

MOMS Club. $35 a year and the club has activities several times a week for free.

Feel free to send me a direct message when you know where exactly you will be living and I can give you contact info for the nearest branch, or you can Google it.

If you end up moving to South Huntsville, I have a few Baptist friends. Willowbrook seems to be a popular "family oriented" Baptist church that many of my neighbors are happy with.

I had my son in pre-school at Willowbrook for one year. They are an incredibly warm group of people. I didn't attend services there, but would recommend their pre-school anytime.
