Dirt grinder - 419 is correct. There has been a lot learned about oils recently, and the bad rap that the Center for Whining in the Public Interest gave to the coconut oil on movie popcorn has been debunked. Palm and coconut oils are processed differently by the body than other saturated fats.

As Southlander can attest, I was in the movie exhibition industry for many years. Knowing this stuff was vitally important. Canola is a genetic variation of rapeseed oil, and the original unsaturated canola oils that theatres were forced to use after the coconut oil scare went rancid even before arrival at the theatres, giving popcorn a wonderful dead fish odor. I developed a sensitivity to the oil and to the odor that was so strong it was affecting me on the job and making me sick. I won't let canola oil in the house. BTW, did you know rapeseed was considered toxic to humans and only used as industrial lubricant for many years. Makes you feel real good about the Canadians who worked to find a new crop for their farmers and renamed it CANola.

Olive oil is fine for many people, but I have had sensitivities to that as well. IMO, after a lot of research, grapeseed oil is superior to almost all oils, but it is not commonly available. Some stores will have "Grapeola" which is grapeseed oil.

It is.

I saw The Book of Eli there Friday before last. I think there was about 10 other people in the place.

Dollar theaters are great, but I've never seen one that in time didn't become a dump. It's tough to maintain a place when you're pulling in $10-20 a showing. While this place isn't a dump yet, I saw signs that it was coming...light burned out, wallpaper damage. At least it was clean...

That is interesting. I just moved from that area (condo's done the street). I wonder why it turned into a $1 show. They were just showing Avatar 3D and all the latest movies not too long ago. Maybe they just couldn't keep up with the competition.

Carmike is a great deal - a buck for the movie, and you can buy a pop corn bucked that you can refill for $2.50 until it expires at the end of the year.
