Hi all,

Looking for the best high schools for my teen and came across this article. Do you think they got it right? Looks like compass is tops followed by Bonneville and Thunder Ridge.

Also, do any of them have a different mix as far as LDS population? I would assume Hillcrest would have the most LDS since it's in Ammon, but I really have no idea.

Yup. Compass Academy is an advanced placement school, so a child has to pre-qualify before their admittance to Compass.

It's a public school in an old Jr. High building. As a school, it's on the other end of the spectrum from another high school in the district that's for all the dropouts who had a hard time in the mainline high schools.
Compass is for the highly intelligent kids who aren't being challenged enough in the mainline classes.

Idaho Falls has a lot of very intelligent folks living here who have jobs in our nuclear energy sector and associated advanced tech in our other centers, along with all our doctors and medical professionals.

Smart adults tend to have smart kids. Our school districts- #91 and #93, have both accommodated these parents for a long time, usually by re-purposing older school buildings, but in the 21st century, the highest achievers are being taught in reserved spaces in the newly-built schools, such as Hillcrest.
