Here in Kalifornia its to hot in the summer....I mean like Africa hot, Tarzan cant stand this kind of hot (stold that from biloxi blues). in August its 100+ for a month and it doesn't seem to cool down much at night.

One of the reasons I'm moving to Idaho is I'm a big guy and we big guys don't do well in heat, I love the cold. I'm wondering what the summers are like I've read the stats but I'd like it straight from the horse.

At night can I just open the windows and turn on a fan? how humid does it really get?

Lastly I LOVE thunder storms and rain, does cda get summer thunder storms?

One of the reasons we moved was because of the never ending heat. Shoot, I just checked where I used to live and it was 90+ this week, never mind August. There were zero thunderstorms last year but I think we will have them this year. This week I was driving in blinding sunlight and then into a hail storm. Last summer I think we only had a half a dozen days in the higher 90's but they are predicting more heat this summer. My house does not have air conditioning and I used to live in air conditioning 24/7. As far as hot sticky humidity, that does not happen very often. That was a reason I did not move back to Maine.

You sound like me with the hatred of the heat. Grew up in South OC, moved to the mountains above the IE, then to North Idaho.

It CAN get up near 100, but that's super rare. Mostly, a "hot" summer day will be high 80's, maybe even break into low 90's. But nights will quickly head back down to low 60's. And we're only talking about maybe 2-3 weeks of heat. Summer storms, yes. Thunderstorms...yeah, but not super frequent.

And by shortly after Labor Day, days are in the 60's and 70's and nights are in the 50's, maybe even high 40's.

We just had a lightning storm the other night, I love them. The temps here are what I would call "mild" as nothing gets really extreme. We get hot, but not boiling, we get cold, but not sub-zero. I just wish we would get a little less winter and a little more summer. I miss my boat on the lake!
