Am making a trip up to Northern Idaho with the family coming up in latter June/early July. How are the mosquitoes & flies in Coeur d'Alene to Priest Lake area so far this year, and what's the typical latter June to early July mosquito/fly situation if out hiking, and on or near the water?

I live near Priest Lake and we have very little mosquito problems or fly problems after early summer.

I haven't seen 1 mosquito since we moved here. We live on the prarie north of CDA. I suspect the wind plays a big role in that. I have an acquaintance in Cougar Gulch (south of CDA) who says they have mosquitos down there.
If you stay in town(s) you won't see any mosquitos but no guarantees when you go into the wilderness/mountains.

Not many flies in Sagle/Sandpoint. But in mid-late summer we'll get some mosquitoes after the grass at parks has been watered in the daytime or overnight. So it can make soccer practices a bit "buggy"...but it's not bad.
