ok, i have done research regarding COL, and it does not seem to bad atm. However, i am having trouble figuring out how quickly it is raising (as theres sources stating it is rising, but they seem to be overexaggerated), what do you guys think?

Well, it depends. It's kind of an impossible question to answer.

Depends on where you're talking about, in relation to where else in the country you want to compare, are you talking house prices, gas prices, food prices, utility prices, etc.

i am talking general cost of living, if you noticed that your dollar does not goes as far as it did (excluding inflation), some sources and posts make it sound like at the current rate you need to make 100+k a year to support yourself in a small town, others seem to make it be relativly steady (except for national inflation).

i can compare it to other statew, and comparativly it seems fine (land does seem alittle more expensive) at the moment, but i cant go back and see what it was like 10, 20, or even 30 years ago if you know what i mean. And for COL im talking the cost of living. Not barley enought to survive, but not steak every night, season ski passes at 3 resorts, and a international vacation a year. Rather house/land, food, gas, electric/heat/utilities, ect.

I would think it's probably in line with Maine.

Though I would expect it to increase fairly significantly if Idaho is poised to be the next Colorado, Washington, Oregon, etc. Maybe look at figures for Utah the past 15 years to get an idea of what Idaho will be this next decade.

The secret is out, and has been for some time. Only thing keeping prices sane is that wages simply aren't increasing.

thats what im getting at. It is seemingly in line with Maine at the moment (however land is more expensive, a 150k home in maine is 200k in idaho it seems), however, as you just stated, its going down the road of CO, Washington, Oregen, ect, the matter is how quickly. And utah you say? did utah go down that line already?

Depends on which part of Idaho you are talking about. It's a BIIIG state. CDA metro area (from Post Falls to Sandpoint) and Boise are changing fairly rapidly. Other parts? Not so much.

Those won't be changing or "discovered " anytime soon.
