We moved away from our beloved cabin and homestead on the Priest river three ago and have lived full time in Spokane since then.
But we closed on a lake home on Lake Coeur D’Alene today so will be spending a lot more time in Idaho again.
So excited!

Now to get serious about selling the cabin and 35 acres and barns/outbuildings on the river.

28 ft. Regal.
But I’m kinda missing the pontoon we had on Priest. It was like a floating living room. it fit a lot of people.
I will always love Priest Lake but it was too danged far. 2 hours each way.

What are the pros and cons of Spokane? Thanks

Thank you, yes we do! Upstairs and downstairs..looking out on the lake! Not as cozy and cabiny as the river place but perfect in its own way. Going there this morning to meet window washers and having the gutters cleaned. The place has been a vacation rental for the last several years and is in need of some TLC.

Probably better to ask on the Spokane board but I love it. I’ve lived in and around BIG cities all of my life except for the 14 years on the river in northern Idaho and to me it’s the perfect size. It’s only a medium sized city and surrounded by natural areas rather than sprawling suburbia. Well, there is liberty lake, Spokane valley, mead, etc. but nothing like the burbs around big cities.
I live on the South Hill and it’s the perfect mix of nature and city.
Drawbacks are the usual for a smaller city. Fewer jobs than a big metropolitan area, petty property crime (I’ve not experienced any), tweakers and homelessness like in any city. Some ugly areaslike west central, Hillyard, along I-90.
Pros are the ease of getting in and out of town, hometown feel of the city, lots of restaurants and things to do, and for me...it’s five minutes or so from downtown to my quiet and lovely neighborhood.
Friendliest little airport and a half hour flight to a “big” city if we like.
