The bypass opened today and it is very nice. I drove my kids across it a couple of times, it has been a long time coming. It was Friday afternoon and town would have usually had a lot of traffic, but it did not today.

We also went and drove it today...just to drive it. I thought it actually presented a beautiful view of our town from both directions...city beach park going north, and the marina, Sand Creek and bridge, and waterfront going south.

I went across yesterday. It was great, about a minute from long bridge to Pondaray, with a great view of the park and waterfront, as well as Sand Creek. Really shows off Sandpoint. Only blight is the ugly-azz condos/appartments by the old train station.

We also stopped in at McDuffs for dinner. For once, it was actually pleasant to be in down town Sandpoint. Seemed like more people parking and visiting than ever, but no mob of traffic, trucks and RVs heading through town. What a nice change!

I agree. What were they thinking of when they built those. Yuck.
