P.S. You'll fit right in if you start waving at people (nicely) when you drive around. We still do that.
Hi Bob, I agree with you - not to change everything. We live here in Oregon that was once a nice small town, reasonable place to live and probably most of the people who have moved here are from CA - not to say we don't like CA people because we do have some friends from there but the powers to be seem to want to change everything - build, build build whether we retirees can afford all the changes. Most of these folks from CA have a lot of money to spend and now everything has gone up, up and up. Now we have a problem and there are not enough doctors for this area and it is a retirement area. We are still waiting for a replacement for our doctor who left his practice here. What fun!

Heh-I always enjoy it when people generalize about an entire state. I've lived in both states you mention. The Idaho town I live in is FAR more liberal than the Montana towns I lived in.

Judging by your LDS comments, I'm betting you are in Southern Idaho?

Default Answer to Bob in Idaho

Hi Bob, Well, we probably wouldn't fit in because we are not young and are retired and not working but we are conservative people, own our home outright and live within our means.

We might take a trip up to Idaho early fall and look around. Right now, property in our town is not selling and it takes sometimes 2 years to sell a nice home.

Maybe it's you?

Dyed my gray hair with a streak of turquoise for the holidays. Wear UGGS and a robe to Wal-Mart. I'm definitely the "granola" type. And maybe just a little further off center.
I'm also friendly, helpful to my neighbors and very kind.
My sister in Boise suggested that I ask the forum for an opinion. She thinks I may be seen as "TOO WEIRD" for Idaho.
Any honest opinion is truly appreciated.

In short... No, and No.

Amsterdam should be right up your alley though...
