Sure. We don't mind. We're like that. (hint: get rid of the CA plates ASAP).

I would say "consider it done", but I think I might get pulled over really quick for driving around with no plates on my car. what if I black out the "California" on the plates instead?

I picked up my Idaho plates the first few days in town. On the way home I stopped by the local rifle range. Few things have brought such simple satisfaction as filling a couple of New York license plates full of holes.

OP, I have no expert opinion on your question.

On a day like this, I cannot imagine living anywhere but Sandpoint. However, Montana's beauty is ethereal. The triangle that circumscribes Philipsburg, Darby and Bozeman is just amazing. I see it as a cousin to North Idaho--beautiful, natural, friendly and lightly populated.

To have that country to the Far South East, Glacier to the Far North East, Banff, Jasper, and Nelson to the Canadian North, Salmon to the immediate SE, CDA to the immediate South, the Sawtooths to the Far South, and finally Priest Lake only 60-90 min to the NW...what can I say...I am one very, happy & contented camper...

S.

Idaho vs. Montana. Hmm.

Both states offer incredible scenery. Both states have two seasons, winter and summer.

I guess the one difference I can find is there are more very rich who have chosen Montana. That having been said, the economy is probably better in Idaho than Montana. By that, I mean that while there are many rich in MT, there are many more in ID that are upper middle class. The divide between the rich and poor is greater in MT than ID. Both states are fantastic on many levels: recreation, beauty, and smaller town living. The biggest metro in these states is Boise. After that, everyone is about equal, as in smaller metros that offer a lot but are not so small that everyone knows everyone. To me, a perfect metro is about 150K, where the quality of life is good, but isn't so small that you know everyone's business. Am I alone?

Ok just saying, Montana's mountains are some of the most gorgeous and sensational in the county. And to whoever says that Montana's vast prairie lands are desolate and bland, well all i have to say is, what do you think now?
Personally, I think this is gorgeous.

It is beautiful but on a day like today I need some shade.

Question Careers and Needs

There are some very good posts in this thread. As MT nears 1 Million residents, perhaps this isn't an issue to some. But for others, it was a deal maker or breaker.

Employment. Some careers have more opportunities in each state. I don't recall the OP mentioning info about careers. I'd be positive I had secure job before looking at either state. To me, ID offers more industries and technologies.

Also, many fail to think of unique things they or a family member may need to live in comfort. Where would you get those needs m=t?

An interesting thread.
