Weve got one day to spend in CDA area, and would like to squeeze in a short hike Friday afternoon- Where would you suggest to go for a great view?
Thanks!

Thanks for that suggestion of Tubbs Hill, my husband and I checked it out online, and looks like a good possibility! Any other ideas?

Tubbs Hill is nice and almost a must do if you're in downtown.

Mineral Ridge is at the East end of the lake, just south of Wolf Lodge, it is also a really nice hike with some interperative signs IIRC. It's more of an adventure than Tubbs, it's a bit of a climb. Take the Hwy 97/Wolf Lodge exit, go south about 2 miles, you're still down at lake level. Parking area is on your left. There are some nice views, and an old mine claim. http://americantrails.org/nationalre...lridge-id.html. After reading the link, I'm going to have to go do that trail again, it's been years.

Depending on when you're in town, Higgin's Point might offer you some views of eagles. It's at the end of CDA Lakeshore Drive (east end of Sherman). There is paved trail (the Centenial Trail) that makes this a very easy walk.

When will you be in town? Most years snow level can limit hikes until summertime...but this year, not so much.

Its more on the south end of Lake CdA but the trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is pretty cool.. You can rent a bike and see a bit more than on foot.. The Trail of the Coeur d'Alene's - North Idaho Lifestyles, Sandpoint Idaho

The trail head is walking distance from here..

We are heading to CDA tomorrow and will be there overnight/morning Saturday. We havent decided yet which place to go, prob will go to Tubbs. We wont be able to do the Bike trail this trip, as we dont have enough time but we definately want to do that sometime! Thanks for all your suggestions.
