further, maywoods issues have little to do with illegals and more to do with mismanagement. lots of cities have faced similar situations of bankruptcy and such, vallejo CA was one of the most recent ones.
the main issue in mywd was the loss of its insurance coverage due to high liability.
that had to do with the police force which was full of bad apples. maywood cops were some of the most oppressive ones. they were known as the secondchance department. many cops fired from other depts ended up at mywd. they were particularly harsh on illegals. they were the most targetted. the dept has been under investigation by the feds for years now.
the council completely mismanaged the city. thats what happened. this has nothing to do with illegals. for those who think so, please explain how...

Hispanics are only a part of other minority cultures residing in the USA and mostly confined to the southwest. We are not known as a Hispanic country culturally or lingually. Hispanic is not the dominant nor identifying ethnic group or culture in this country anymore than we are known to be a Chinese country culturaly.

It has to do with illegal immigration because of the high numbers of illegals living there and that Maywood is a sanctuary city for illegals.

Houston's city government represents a diverse range of people, diverse in ethnic origins, political orientations, language backgrounds, racial groups, and lifestyles. Because everyone in Houston is working together, the city is far better off than the Maywoods of the world.

If the city is still unable to provide quality services with the limited responsibilities it has (even with the county providing police, fire, and library services), it could be disincorporated, with its territory taken by Vernon, CA. Vernon has a large tax base, but only 91 residents.
what is high? and what are the sources for said "high" number?
that aside, these fiscal issues have WHAT to do with illegal immigration?
there are lots of sanctuary cities with various problems, should their parking issues then be part of this thread? should issues of graffitti in sanctuary cities also be included in this forum?
shall we now talk about the sports programs in these sanctuary cities also?

the issues faced by this city are based in bad calls by an inexperienced council.
the fact that this place is 97 percent hispanic has nothing to do with anything.
lots of other cities have majority hispanic populations and dont have these issues. neighboring huntington park comes to mind.
