The whole concept of capitalism vs socialism (that you're putting forth) is a major cultural barrier that exists between most Americans and the illegal migrants that come here from Mexico and other Latin American nations. Illegal migrants from those countries expect social services to be handed to them. They believe in entitlements that most Americans (up until recently) did not.
It's not that it's tough luck and that we laugh at others for being poor, it's that it is perfectly right to profit from what you do as long as you do not cheat, steal or withhold what you've agreed to pay. Actually, capitalism IS founded upon the Christian faith and it's spiritual principals.

Now obviously, the above quote is dealing with Spiritual gifts such as faith, charity, and other fruits of the Spirit, but the spiritual principal also applies to financial wealth. There is nothing wrong with being profitable or even paying one wage worker more generously than another if the employer and the worker stipulate thereto.

The word "greed" (in the Greek πλεονεξία) implies taking, or desiring something, that you're not entitled to. It means to covet what is not rightfully yours and to take away from others by using fraud, extortion and theft. Obviously there is nothing good about that type of greed.
But that is not what capitalism is, or does. Capitalism is about making just profits and using those just profits to gain more profitability.
Actually, the term "greed" as used in scripture is what motivates most illegal migrants to come to America. They come here because they covet what our nation has. They covet, they lust for and they desire the prosperity of our American life style (ie: the American dream), which their own country can not give them and what they have not rightfully earned. I just found out...are you ready...from the IRS that my SSN has been being used by a women in Florida since 2005. No she hasn't applied for any loans, nor has she dinged my credit...yet. But I had to file a police report with my state, they in turn turned it over to the state that she resides in. The only thing I can do is turn over the police report to the IRS, and they will "investigate" it. That's it. I have to watch my credit, and our accounts with our banks they also have been notified.
I kind of feel like my hands are tied behind my back. The detective I spoke with in Florida was very nice, but I really don't see this being resolved anytime soon. So that's my pity party for tonight.
Bottom line...no one really cares if your SSN is stolen. It wasn't like my purse had been stolen. I still have the card, so how did she get the number?
