I just love how denial of asylum signifies a “broken immigration system.” When will people accept the fact that we are not obligated to admit or retain every person in the world who desires the American Dream? As an adult, when a decision is made to violate the law, one must also assume responsibility for the consequences.
Im confused...How is the law not working, he came, over stayed, petitioned, was denied and is in the process of being deported. Whats broke?
even when the process works, its not good enough...
Had you read the article prior to commenting, you would understand my post. Hint: I don’t consider the system broken. However, illegals and their supporters do. It’s one of their favorite mantras. We need enforcement, not reform.

It is the deportee and the so-called immigrant rights groups that will claim that our immigration system is broken just because he has been denied asylum. You hear it all the time.
Mind you, it WOULD be nice if ICE would make up their damn minds on who they're deporting and who they're not. They are giving convicted criminal illegals a pass by "releasing them", claim they are concentrating on those illegals who commit VIOLENT crimes, yet they are deporting these people who haven't committed any more illegal acts than many they've chosen to ignore, while ignoring so many thousands of others on their "catch and release" programs.
Is it any wonder we're slightly confused over which parts of the immigration law they're selectively enforcing?
So, one could legitimately claim the enforcement component of our immigration system is "broken".

I couldn’t agree more. How do they justify releasing convicted criminals, while they deport this family? Obviously, they came from the wrong country.
Even those who are here LEGALLY can be deported if they violate the terms of their residency (see link to article below), so why do illegals and their supporters think THEY should get "special treatment"?
I bet had this family been Mexican, they wouldn't be touched. It seems the U.S. seems partial to Mexicans but not other Hispanic groups (other than Cubans I suppose)
If he understood the risks of being here illegally then, he should understand the risks now. He is as illegal as those who cross our borders without permission, and deserving of nothing but deportation.
Hear ! Hear!
