Why should any foreigner here illegally be given a student loan over any American? That's absurd.
Would Mexico give student loans to people who show up there illegally ahead of it's own citizens? Of course not. No sane country would encourage people to break it's laws by denying it's citizens something and turning around and giving it to foreigners.
Perhaps you can also explain how ALL DREAMies will be working, or even should be authorized to work, while our own citizens remain unemployed. That, my friend, is the basis of the CBO report. It’s all predicated on their “potential” wages and taxes. The assumption is that NONE of them are currently working, and ALL of them will be contributing members of society. What do you suppose will be the result of them NOT fulfilling their requirements, and not paying taxes? After all, they only have to give birth on U.S. soil to qualify for freebies, and they have already proven their propensity for that.
Furthermore, by their own admission on your DAP forum, most illegal alien DREAMies are already employed using a fake or stolen SSN. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Yet, these larcenous illegals are expected to suddenly become law-abiding with the passage of a bill? They are already scheming on how to use the loopholes in the DREAM Act, or whether they should find a USC to marry. Get real.
Typical behavior expected from the anti-immigrant crowd. Anything that doesn't line up with your beliefs must be wrong.
Please stop the dishonest tactic of calling us anti-"immigrant". We are anti-illegal alien. At least have the decency to use the adjective "illegal" in front of the word immigrant which is really the discussion here, not legal immigrants.
Yes, the cost of unemployment of Americans and illegals has to be added in.
The USA simply does not have an economy to provide jobs for all the American people and the rest of the world that wants a high standard of living but doesn't want to work to build that in their own countries.
The La Raza groups are demanding that any one from a Latin American nation has the right to come here, does not have to abide by any law that inconveniences him and there are no limitations on how many can come.
All one has to do is claim they smuggled in a child before that child was 16 - illegals have no proof of when they came because any proof would have to be supplied by the narco cartel that smuggled them in. The undocumented can't be expected to provide real documents - that goes without saying.
This Dream Act is about getting anyone in any hispanic country not just a free college education here and a "right" to a good paying job here, but also the right to start sponsoring many family members - such as their parents and grandparents for the good life here of USA government provided retirement handouts.
Anchor babies being allowed to sponsor all kinds of relatives in family "reunification" just isn't good enough, it doesn't allow the entire population of Latin America in.
Even if a child is smuggled in by a cartel smuggling ring at age 17, nothing at all stops the family from claiming they broke the law 2 years earlier.
So the CBO is wrong yet the blatantly biased anti-immigrant CIS study you posted is right? Talk about using common sense!!!
Is the CBO ever right about anything? Given the state of this nations finances I would guess that the CBO struggles with adding 2+2 and getting the same number twice.
As others have said. 9.8% unemployment and no real hope in sight. Where do these Dreamies get the jobs? More to the point why should they get the jobs when legal citizens need the work to survive?
Add to this how does the CBO get their totals when no one actually knows how many dreamies are actually out there?

All excellent questions, tin. Of course they have no idea what the costs will be. I’m sure an accounting clerk was ordered by pandering politicians to produce a report in favor of the DREAM Act. Clearly, there is NO data to substantiate this nonsense. How could there be? As you said, they don’t even know how many will be eligible, or what percentage of the eligible will even fulfill the requirements.
Furthermore, how on earth can we consider this estimate even marginally credible when it’s based on revenue generated by DREAMies effective January 1, 2011 thru 2020? It doesn’t take a genius to realize this is pure BS pro-amnesty propaganda.
How can anyone support authorizing untold millions of illegals to work in this country during our ever-increasing unemployment? If for no other reason, this bill should not even be considered for a vote.

We don't know how many illegals are in this nation. We guess.
So based on this we can not possibly know how many dreamies we have either. So we guess.
So how can the CBO possibly come up with any kind of accurate numbers?
Most of us who think ahead assume worse case scenario for when we plan our budgets. If the best case happens then its a windfall.
The Fed just spends on hope it works out, hope it isn't that bad, hope they all succeed hope hope hope.
Have they considered that those with jobs, may lose them if this is passed? If an employer has to follow the rules, pay payroll taxes, pay prevailing wages and provide a safe working environment and such, won't they drop the Dreamies like rocks? They just have to hire other illegals, and the circle continues.
That is just the cost of them individually. Not the cost to put them through school or military service, nor all the dependents they can bring with them.
