Pelosi is no long speaker of the house,

"Republican Boehner sworn in as Speaker for new U.S. Congress"
LAURIE KELLMAN
Washington— The Associated Press

Rep. John Boehner was elected Speaker of the House, sealing newfound Republican power-sharing in Congress and drawing the curtain on the history-making Nancy Pelosi era at the helm.

Cheers broke out among GOP lawmakers on the House floor on Wednesday as Mr. Boehner, a veteran lawmaker from Ohio, defeated Ms. Pelosi in the roll call for Speaker. His rise to the helm of the House was virtually guaranteed months ago, when the midterm elections returned Republicans to control of the House, which they had surrendered to Democrats four years ago. Ms. Pelosi was the first woman to rise to the speaker's post.

Can we please not call women witches? It's offensive and demeaning. It plays into historical stereotypes about women who did not follow the historical demands that they remain barefoot, pregnant and powerless.

I'm against illegal migration but let's not use sexism along the way.

Besides the Reps are hardly any better on this issue. Reagan granted amnesty. Both Bushes did nothing to reduce the numbers because they were captives of business interests. Big business prefers illegal migrants because they are powerless to demand decent wages and working conditions. The right largely adheres to that credo even when it enacts a huge cost on the American middle class.

Well last I checked Obama and his crew have been in charge for the last two years, Sued Arizona because the federal government under his presidential training program have
refused to secure the border along with their support of
sanctuary cities, amnesty and letting Calderón make a mockery of the United States !

Actually it's the Democratic Party that appeals to their emotions.

Who do you think was behind the promise of the Dream Act
Obama the Constitutional Expert sealing the votes for 2012

The liberal mindset in this country is the biggest problem today. Not one person from the left has been able to discuss and debate the actual points that the moderates and conservatives have made about the actions and policies of the current administration. They can't because they know that Obama is the single worst president in the history of the country and his policies have failed and are actually making things worse. Unemployment is just one example.

This is why the left only gets a brief bit of power and then the country snaps back to reality and votes in a moderate or conservative and just plain common sense.

Obama's biggest problem is that he's not liberal enough and kisses the backsides of the right far too often. Two years does not negate what came before him with both Bushes.

Before then the Republicans were in charge. All that happened was more illegal migrants came across the border without permission. The right has a lousy record on this issue. They refuse to punish employers and have no problem with encouraging socially conservative hispanics to move here even if it means punishing the middle class. They don't care about overcrowded public schools because their children attend private schools. They don't care about overcrowded emergency rooms or rising property taxes because they have private insurance and granddaddy's inherited money to pay for all their needs.

This isn't a left or right issue. This is an issue where no one chooses to listen to the American people.

I'll agree with this not being a left or right issue

However, It's the current administration who has made
the decision NOT to listen to the American people on this
as they could have sent more troops to the border long
before Rancher Robert Krentz and Border Agent Brian Terry
were MURDERED !

The Ex Governor of Arizona Janet Napolitano now Head
of Homeland Security knows of the time bomb along the border and for some reason will not do the job she was appointed to and why to you think that is or is it just
because her boss Obama is not liberal enough

As long as the murders, rapes, kidnappings, ID theft, and credit fraud is happening to everyone EXCEPT our elected local/state/federal officials, their family members, and close friends -- illegal Entry into the U.S.A. is officially NOT A PROBLEM.

Obama has been quite conservative on economic policy. We'll see if the Reps are any better on this issue. Big business has every reason to love a docile workforce. They pay them little, offer them no benefits or rights and then force local communities to clean up the mess. We'll see if the Reps are really serious when they get birthright citizenship repealed, tell the president of Mexico to fix up his own country instead of invading ours, demand better border enforcement and sanction employers who hire illegal migrants.

Elanora1, normally I might agree with you about the title "witch" in regard to women but, IMO, Pelosi earned it through her actions. I'd rather not insult female dogs by referring to her with the "B" word.

As for Republican mistakes, well, at least we learned from ours and admit that what Regan did had unintended consequences and are not willing to repeat that mistake. Bush was/is an open borders globalist as is the current POTUS.

OBAMA conservative on economic policy

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.
And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th. of 2009
