Well you have to consider that SOME of the remittances are sent by those who are here legally (either legal residents or USC), so those numbers have to factored in as well.

Yes, that's very obvious. They've been claiming 12 million illegals since the Clinton years - yet over a million arrive every year and are still pouring over the border. Nevermind that Mexico's unemployment rates are much much lower than those of the USA, and states like California are still popular destinations no matter what the unemployment rate is.

Unemployment is about American workers, not illegals and the corporations and elites still want their dirt cheap labor which makes for huge profits for themselves. No one wants to pay an American $8 an hour to mow the yard when they can get an illegal for $3 an hour. They are still bringing in $6 an hour factory workers and what houses are still being built are still built with mostly illegal labor.

love this post!

americans are tired of having america function as mexico's safety valve.

i must point out, once again, that mexico's official unemployment rate is lower than ours and that there is a reason why they are streaming across the border and that reason is HANDOUTS.

they have more work than ever before thanks to china:

it must be nice for a country to get another country to provide their medical care, education, and benefits- but americans are getting fed up with this arrangement.

The government should be siezing the portion of that money sent south by criminal aliens and using it to fund border enforcement. Money made through criminal acts is siezed all the time.

Good, perhaps if we continue to be hostile to these criminals they'd stop coming to America illegally in the first place. You don't want hostility? Come to America on legal terms like millions of other immigrants. Instead they continue to bypass the law, come here illegally, and then cry a river when we actually want to enforce our immigration laws. If America's so full of hatred perhaps they can go back where they came from and change their native lands how they see fit.

Or deporting them. That should be enough to deport a few million.

Sounds like a farmer reaping a good harvest. Like Mexico would ever want these illegals returning home.
Exactly, Mexico is more than happy to let these people jump the border because they get rid of a lot of their own impoverished that way. Mexico is basically transferring millions of welfare cases to the US and taking them off their own government's rolls. Oh, and the kicker is we send billions in foreign aid to them every year. Mexico is swindling America more efficiently than Danny Ocean robbing a casino.
