Ariz. lawmakers mull automatic citizenship bill - U.S. news - Life - msnbc.com

"Arizona lawmakers give their first hearing Monday to a bill that challenges automatic U.S. citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, the state's latest foray into the national debate over illegal immigration.

The bill's sponsors say the goal is to force a court to rule that a child born in the U.S. is a citizen only if either parent is a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

Opponents say the proposal is mean-spirited toward immigrants and won't make a dent in the state's immigration woes."

Opponents: "Waaa-waaa-waaa!"

"Mean spirited towards "immigrants"? There the pro-illegals go with the lies again. It isn't "immigrants" giving birth on our soil that is the issue it is about it is about illegal aliens giving birth on our soil.

Ending birthright citizenship for the offspring of illegal aliens would most certainly take away one of their reasons for coming here or reproducing on our soil and therefore being able to access our welfare tax dollars through them.

This is great! We really need to get leeches off our socialist programs otherwise they will be depleted fast as more illegal aliens squirt out anchor babies. They're not stopping, they're multiplying.

Mean spirited?

What a joke. Closing the vault door to only customers isn't what I would call mean spirited. What is mean spirited is migrating across a great distance to take social services not meant for you and you never paid for.

I dont think thats going to prevent that, I mean its just going to be a small damper, what they need to do is cut all those services or **** do a dam background check for every applicant.

The bill didn't even pass committee. A republican majority committee.

seems even some Repubulican legislatiors are having trouble with this one...

That's because republican politicians aren't really for stemming the immigration problem. Not really. I speech, yes. In action, no. Its a dog and pony show.

Most republican citizens seem to be strongly anti-immigration, as they should be (the very wealthy republicans would most often be the exception to this, as more immigrants equates to cheaper labor, which means more business profits).

But republican politicians don't share the same interests as the majority of republican citizens. The economic divide is the difference, and the most important issue in terms of interpreting where someone's true interests and allegiances lie.

Correction, there may be some Republicans who don't want illegal immigration stopped but most do. Republican citizens are strongly anti-immigration? You meant illegal immigration, right? There are the guilty ones in both parties. Some do want the cheap labor and some are courting the Latino vote and the prospect of future Democrats because most minorities are or become Democrats and that is a proven fact.
