Disgusting street vendors are all over S. California. Lots of their primarily recent Legal and Illegal Countrymen buy from them.

They are "Special" and do not have to adhere to the local laws or safety standards. No business permits, sanitation and running water.

It's not unheard of to have these people and their customers throw trash, uneaten food and other debris all over the public streets. They often relieve themselves in public and can't wash or clean themselves, yet still prepare food and drinks.

Yet if an American decides to do this he would need a business license, pay taxes and follow ALL food and safety laws. These Illegals should have their goods seized by the Health Dept., fined and then be deported.

If they were not illegal would it be OK for the street vendors?

Everyone has a choice. You know the risk.

Rules and regulations put the little guy out of business. and you wonder how companies get bigger and bigger, but the individual trying to start cannot possibly compete on a level playing field, when the field is not level to begin with.

It would not be right to say that one ethnic group is exempt from the food safety rules, so you'd have to end all the laws regarding food handling.

No more food inspections, food handler cards with TB testing for anyone - it would have to be the same for all ethnic groups.

You should see the "vendors" camped out under the 10 freeway at Fairfax between Washington and Apple.

Looks like a g-d carnival in the morning. Very convenient because it's where a lot of the MTA busses stop.

Tons of vendors and grill stations, fruit juice stands, umbrellas and tamale vendors etc.

Re-damn-diculous.

Well, It makes sense, restaurants and small food stands are required to place the Food Grade according the the inspection review by the FDA. This ensures our safety before we consume a product. If they don't get inspected, how will we know if it has led or e coli or other harmful stuff. They can't be inspected because they don't have a license to begin with, so it's taken away.

Not only that - how many illegals intend to pay a single dime of their hospital bill if they come down with hepatitis or cholera from one of these food vendors?

Just like with health care, the illegals don't mind spending their own money on curanderos practicing medicine here with out a license. They'll pay a brujo for herbs and ventajas, but when these cures make them very ill, then they trot over to the American style hospital and demand their health care be given to them free (not free - from the taxpayers).

Right up my alley here Malamute. I have reports right here on my fricken desk of almost 2 billion taxpayer dollars spent on these these leaches last year alone. For those of you who think they don't how to work the system come spend one day with me JUST ONE, and I guarantee you I will change your mind.
