But clearly the study shows that they are assimilating BETTER than past waves of immigrants, correct? And I think you'd agree that many people here have claimed otherwise. I think you'd also agree that those past waves seem pretty well assimilated now.
No. The study shows that the entire group of immigrants today is assimilating better than immigrants in the past. BUT, Latino immigrants do not integrate as well as Asian, black and white immigrants.

lol. Hispanics are part of the group that is assimilating better than our past ancestors. Whether they are assimilating slower than current Asian, blacks & whites is irrelevant. It's going to be hilarious irony how you can justify calling all illegals Mexicans because they constitute over 50% of the illegal population but we can't confer that all immigrants are Mexican in this case and that they are an insignificant statistical sliver (even though they are over 50% lulz)....because it's a positive report.
For a fine example of assimilation by a Mexican-American read this blog. She was born here and yet she takes the side of illegal aliens everytime against our LE,BP and calls Americans who don't agree with her views, racists, xenophobes (well you know all those smear words that they use to demonize Americans for the rule of law). She even makes up lies in the newstories she posts to further her agenda of filling this country up with Hispanics/Mexicans via illegal immigration. I posted one of them under another topic.
This isn't a language issue either. It is about being loyal to a country and its citizens over her own country when she wasn't even born in Mexico but her ancestors were.
It looks to me like she's integrated pretty well. She learned English, she is exercising her first amendment rights, and she supports upholding the 14th amendment of the constitution. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Lots of natural born citizens agree with her on a number of issues. I'm one of them.

Where do you see assimilation, when we have press 1 for English 2 for Spanish
And bilingual education?
And bilingual signs in stores?
Maybe you could open a store and only have English signs and only allow Americans. Your profits would probably not compare to your competitors but Rand Paul would be proud.
What was the last company you called that required you to press one for English?
Anthem Blue Cross--yesterday .
But again, off topic.
So, to help us get back to the topic at hand....
Here's a little ditty from Michelle Malkin, a woman whose forebearers obviously assimilated and became AMERICANS, not Asian American, or Filipino American...as a matter of fact, in Michelle's own words, ""I'm not Asian, I'm American, for goodness sake."
With great fanfare and elite media sympathy, Jose Antonio Vargas publicly declared himself an "undocumented immigrant" this week. "Undocumented" my you-know-what. In the felony-friendly pages of The New York Crimes -- er, Times -- the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist turned illegal-alien activist spilled the beans on all the illegal IDs he amassed over the years. He had documents coming out of his ears.
The Times featured full-color photos of Vargas' fake document trove -- including a fake passport with a fake name, a fake green card and a Social Security card his grandfather doctored for him at a Kinko's. He committed perjury repeatedly on federal I-9 employment eligibility forms. In 2002, while pursuing his journalism career goals, an immigration lawyer told him he needed to accept the consequences of his law-breaking and return to his native Philippines.
Following the rules would have meant a 10-year bar to reentry into America. Making false claims of citizenship is a felony offense. Document fraud is a felony offense.
