No, it doesn't work like that. As SOON as LE makes contact with you, you will be asked for ID just like in EVERY OTHER STATE! If you can't produce ID, can't verify who you are or have OTHER reasons to suspect you may be here illegally, THEN and ONLY THEN will you be asked to prove your legal status.
