Mass Immigration Cost American Taxpayers $69 Billion Net and 2 Million Jobs in 1997

Study by Dr. Donald Huddle Reports Legal Immigration of over 1 Million Per Year Accounts for over 62% of Costs

Why should we continue to allow our own working poor, homeless, and unemployed to continue to suffer from the job loss, wage depression, and other burdens imposed by mass immigration?
Any wonder why our country is broken? This in 2011 and the cost is rising.

This ¨study¨ was sponsored by The Carrying Capacity Network, an immigration reduction group, and countered by other organizations:

snopes.com: Just One State - Cost of Illegals in Los Angeles (the last fifth of the page)

Which shows that any data out there is tainted and bias towards the individual agenda.
When we dont know the actual number we cant know what is contributed. What we can determine is a cost. At least as far as social services and such.

Dr. Donald Huddle says that even legal immigrants like my wife and your wife are ultimately a net loss to the United States...

Do you support his assertion?...

No. Obviously not. Because the costs associated with them we bear ourselves. Then when they are employed they pay taxes etc. Are some legals a burden? Of this I am sure. What the % is I have no clue. I believe that both sides uses legals to muddy the water.
I'll say this in 6 years of work my wife has never missed a day. She has never gotten a speeding ticket or broken any laws. The good tax payers have never had to support her in anyway.

It all depends. If someone brings in a legal immigrant AND pays for a health insurance plan, pays all the costs of their immigrant, all the food, all their bills then the immigrant is not a net loss to the USA. And some legal immigrants have very valuable skills, or work ethic and certainly contribute.

If someone brings in a legal immigrant and that immigrant brings in kids who use the schools here, then unless they're paying more taxes than their immigrant kids costs the taxpayers, then there is a net loss for the taxpayers. If the family uses food stamps, WIC, and/or Medicaid then there is certainly a net loss.

There isn't some median point that Dr. Donald Huddle uses for legal immigrants; Collectively he places them deep in the hole of expending much more than they bring in. The snopes listing quotes what each "researcher" has used to derive their data very well, and is worth study alone.

CIS/FAIR wants to heavily reduce legal immigration numbers, and use data on legal immigrants within their overall numbers. As far as they are concerned it is not just a matter of illegal immigration. For a forum like this one, where it seems not too many members actually sift through the originating data, methods, and organizations, it leads to quite a few mistaken notions.

In total we had well over 100 posts and about three topics about ITINs being used to get refunds from the Additional Child Tax Credit, a lawful process misrepresented to stir the pot further...

The problem I have on this forum and its caused me to leave it for a while is that so many will dig in and refuse to accept valid proof or even debate. They refuse to agree to disagree. Its both sides.
For example you and I tend to disagree a lot. Yet we never feel the need to trash.
I understand where many on the other side of the issue are coming from.
Its not about all illegals are good and unfairly accused of bad things. The way I understand their position is that most are here for 1 reason. A better life than they had where they came from. Most come here and violate only the laws that impede their ability to feed themselves and their families. I wont argue this point because it is true. Only a liar would deny that they would walk through hell and back again for their family. I get this and understand it.
I simply dont accept that the USA has any moral responsibility or obligation to provide for all those who want the better life. We quite simply cant afford it. The other issue I have is the claim that illegal immigration has no impact on legal immigration. Of course it does. As the illegals inflate our population and our unemployment remains high the gov will be forced to reduce legal immigration. It would only make sense.

Addressing your last sentence tinman, you'd think that those whose family migrated here legally would understand that and join the anti-illegal movement instead of making excuses for them or sympathiziing with them but I guess not. Not only does illegal immigration impact the job availability for citizens but for legal immigrants also. I think you are right. Somewhere down the line our government may have to decrease our quotas for legal immigration as our jobs and resources continue to dry up because of so many illegal aliens here but I guess that matters not those people either.

We need to get rid of all the illegals to even think of your scenario.
