I suspect this has to do with the politicians promising a Dream Act, so many people are risking the very lives of their children, getting them to the USA before they reach age 16, so that they will be handed citizenship and become sponsors for the rest of the family.

Greed has no compassion. The love of money is more important than safety of their children.

Spike In Undocumented Immigrant Children Prompts Use Of Military Base As Shelter

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Air Force turned a San Antonio Air Force base into temporary shelter for 100 undocumented children Monday, after being overwhelmed by unusually high rates of underage border-crossers, according to a report by the San Antonio Express-News.

Nothing like our tax dollars at work providing everything illegal aliens need.

Yes, they simply have to get here before age 16 and will get in on the Dream Act and then can start the family chain migration process for their idiotic parents who have risked the lives of these children. Taxpayers will make it all perfect for all.

Throw in "Amnesty's Coming!!! Amnesty's Coming!!!"

I bet there will be blowback about putting those poor undocumented children in a shelter, on a base!!! I'm waiting for the "violation of their civil and human rights" movement to make an appearance, about the injustice of not providing them with better housing and demanding that they be given better accommodations.

I read the DREAMAct portal frequently, and many of them admit to coming here illegally after the age of 16. While the powers that be pretend to have pre-requisites for being granted amnesty via the Nightmare Act, at the end of the day how in the hell are they going to verify when illegal aliens arrived in this country? Additionally, since many of them are beyond the age of 21 being granted amnesty, we both know that they will use their amnesty to sponsor the illegal alien criminal parents that brought them here.

One good thing. At least America is showing compassion for these innocent children. That is a positive thing..I just wonder if America dropped off a hundred Anglo kids in Mexico..If they would be as kind?

What's even sadder...15/16 year old illegal kids having kids themselves and their families then getting government assistance...grandma, mom and the new citizen baby.

And our public schools provide daycare for the student's babies and help them apply for government programs. But not being 17 yet the parents have to sign papers permitting this.

I have seen 2 instances of this in one inner city school I was at. Had I stayed there a bit longer I might have seen more. And the kids are quite open about it and know the system. These are 15 year old kids still in middle school.
