More than a third of Hispanic fourth graders were identified by their schools as English language learners, according to a 2011 report by the U.S. Department of Education. By the time they are in middle school, English language learners tend to show the poorest performance in math and reading of all groups. And lest you think these kids are “disadvantaged,” think again. Many children of immigrants start life with advantages that children of native-born Americans don’t have, according to the study. Roughly three-quarters of the country’s children of immigrants lived with both parents in 2010, ......And we’ve chosen a Republican nominee who is exactly the same on this issue as the current President.

Up until 1965, the United States of America had a conservative immigration policy that allowed approximately 100,000 to 200,000 foreign nationals a year into the U.S. Then it was changed. Over a million foreign nationals a year were allowed to enter the U.S. legally and illegally. There are now approximately 11 to 33 million foreign nationals illegally in the U.S. This demonstrates that illegal immigration is condoned, and is even rewarded by the government through social programs and amnesty. The new immigrants were encouraged to settle in separate communities, and retain their culture and language, discouraging assimilation into American culture and any attempts to define themselves as simply “American”


So called multiculturalism another word for balkanization was the next part of the attack on American solidarity. Ethnic studies was introduced on campuses and schools around the country, and later became a mandatory class. Ethnic studies evolved into ethnic clubs, and later departments based on race. Ethnic studies gave birth to a quasi-nationalism based on race. The hyphenated American was born. This created further conflict and division among the American people.


Now we have special interest groups such as La Raza & Mecha. These in turn fund special interest law firms, e.g., ACLU, SPLC, and MALDEF, to challenge any attempt by the American citizen to regain control of our country. The American citizens have repeatedly: introduced legislation, e.g. prop 187, SB 1070, and … voted on it, and had it overwhelmingly approved by the voters, only to have these special interest law firms challenge the legislation, tie it up in the courts, then have it struck down by a judge with a political agenda. The final insult happened when the elected officials failed to appeal that lower court decision and fight to have the will of the people protected, as they are required by law to do.

The idea of “Divide and Conquer” has been used throughout history to consolidate and retain power, and it is an act of war against the American people, of all colors. It has created strife and division among the American people, and preventing them from presenting a unified front and wresting power from the current establishment. The corrupt gangsters are still in charge.

You don't have to tell me. I'm in Texas where over 50% of the school kids are of Hispanic descent.
As far as immigration status..we're not allowed to ask so it's as good a guess as any how many are citizens.

Many can't get help from home because the parents speak no English or very limited English.

Oh you have Hispanics that have no problem with English fluency and their kids are doing fine. But you have many more that have undereducated non-English speaking parents.

Agree. and I don't like the use of the word "citizen" because they don't have to be citizens, they can be legal permanent residents. Someone should read up and find out the difference.

The author Debbie Schlussel (the only thing she is going to be harder on Hispanics is Muslims, and she went farther than President Obama's recent slip to say that Poles ran the Nazi deathcamps in Poland) only splits the numbers as being from either native or foreign-born parents (and one parent as foreign-born categorizes the child as being from immigrants), so she does place the children of legal immigrants in the "destroying" category...

We're getting too many who couldn't make it in their own country where they know the language and culture. Without the welfare handouts and free health care, the food stamps, the free meals at schools, they would not be doing any better here than they did back home.

Hispanic does not equal illegal.
Immigrant does not equal illegal.
Since the author of the article fails to see the difference, this is not an illegal immigration issue.
