When are they gonna tell the illegals that coming to the U.S. jumping borders or being smuggle is a crime. And its a crime. And they are hurting their ownselves & family. If its illegal for a prostitute to be on the streets in the U.S. and she goes to jail and pay fines. It's illegal for them to pay someone to smuggle them in or pay to be harbor them..

Default Parents deported, what happens to US-born kids?

They go back with their parents, we don't want them either.

We are under no moral or legal obligation to allow parents who managed to scam our system and who are in our country illegally who either brought their foreign born kids here or gave birth on our soil that are minors to allow them to remain here because of their kids. The whole family needs to leave and go back to the parent's homeland. No, separation of families in that scenario. The U.S. born ones can return here if they choose to do so when they become adults.

If the parents love their kids, of course they would want to bring them home with them when they go, but if their kids were just to access the food stamps and WIC and all the rest, then they tend to just ditch the kids. Back home, they'd have to work to support those kids.

True, and since it is actually the parents who apply for these benefits in behalf of their U.S. born kids of course they want to remain here. The kids themselves can't apply for the benefits.

So these cruel parents lie to their children, commit crimes here, abandon their children and Americans are the bad guys in this scenario?

The argument seems to be that you should have the right to break our immigration laws if you have a child here. Anchor babies is an apt term alright.

Yet just yesterday the NYT told of parents leaving their kids in Mexico and coming to the US to live and work.

I guess the crocodile tears come depending on which direction you are crossing the border ?
Pack up the kids with the parents and deport them all.

If the parents are so desperate to be reunited with their kids then by all means, let's make sure they ALL make it safely over the border.

I don't see the problem of taking them along. Lot's of people move to different countries every day, including the kids.
